Gallery Edition – Trees at Night by Armand Seguin – 59×44 Interior Architectural Study

Curatorial Narrative As we situate Armand Seguin’s “Trees at Night” within the fin-de-sicle era, circa 1894, we find ourselves enveloped in an Expressionist landscape that conjures the eerie and mystical. The artist’s linear brushwork, reminiscent of calligraphic gestures, orchestrates a choreographed dance of black and white hues. This chromatic austerity serves to heighten the sense of nocturnal mystery, as if the trees themselves were conjuring secrets beneath the veil of darkness. Seguin’s technique, redolent of Symbolist influences, imbues the composition with an aura of mystique, beckoning the viewer into a realm both intimate and unsettling. When scaled up to 59×44 inches, “Trees at Night” assumes a majestic presence that recalibrates the spatial rhythm of any luxury interior. The monochromatic palette, now grandly proportioned, exerts a profound influence on material pairings: imagine the piece juxtaposed with rich, dark wood
