Gallery Edition – An Angel by Bartolomeo Passarotti – 44×73 Interior Architectural Study

Curatorial Narrative In the late 16th century, Bartolomeo Passarotti’s “An Angel” emerged as a testament to the artist’s mastery of classical techniques. Executed between 1529 and 1592, this work exemplifies Passarotti’s ability to craft a sense of luminosity through his fine brushwork and restrained palette, comprising sepia tones that evoke a sense of timelessness. The figurative subject is rendered with precision, its delicate features and gentle drapery unfolding within a composition that exudes a sense of serenity. This painting’s visual mechanics are characterized by a Modern sensibility, its clean lines and minimal chromatic structure imbuing the work with a Contemporary feel. When enlarged to 44×73, “An Angel” assumes an architectural scale that transforms the viewer’s experience. The monochromatic palette, once subtle, now asserts itself as a dominant force, casting a warm, golden light that permeates the surrounding space.
