Gallery Edition – Procris and the Unicorn by Bernardino Luini – 44×97 Interior Architectural Study

Curatorial Narrative In Bernardino Luini’s “Procris and the Unicorn,” created circa 1520-1522, we witness the Renaissance master’s nuanced exploration of figurative representation. Luini’s fine brushwork and earthy palette, dominated by greens and browns, evoke a sense of intimacy and subtlety. The soft reds from the flowers add a touch of vibrancy, imbuing the scene with a quiet dynamism. This visual language is characteristic of Renaissance Revival and Classical Interior Design styles, which sought to revive the classical ideals of balance and harmony. Luini’s technique, honed through his studies of Leonardo da Vinci, yields a work that is at once elegant and contemplative. When enlarged to 44×97, “Procris and the Unicorn” assumes an architectural scale that transforms the viewer’s experience. The earthy tones and gentle red accents now unfold with a spatial rhythm that echoes the classical proportions of Renaissance Revival design
